BIBLE VERSES TO PONDER
(Part 3 of 3)

MILLENNIAL KINGDOM / ETERNAL KINGDOM

Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power, For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

I Corinthians 15:24-28

We see in this verse that the Son turns the kingdom over to the Father after His work is done, and ALL THINGS have been subdued and made subject to His rule. If we have chosen to rebel against Him, we WILL be made right BY Him in Gehenna in order to be made subject TO HIM. Then shall the Son take His proper place in God's governmental order of Heaven so God may once again be all in all, or one unified Godhead.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:11-15

The primary Book of Life that is opened here is the Father's Book of Life and relates to the Father's Kingdom, which follows the Millennial Kingdom of the Son. This book reveals whether or not the SPIRIT was ever saved by grace. No name can ever be erased from this book, as we have repeatedly seen that the salvation of the SPIRIT is SECURED upon our initial belief. If our name appears here, we are ASSURED of entrance to the Father's Eternal Kingdom. However, verse 12 mentions that BOOKS were opened. Among these would almost certainly be the Book of Life of the Son that recorded the sanctification process of the SOUL. We might note here that the sea gave up it's dead, as did death and hell. Again we note THREE separate entities, each giving up their dead. If the "White Throne Judgment Seat" is JUST for the non believers, why wouldn't it just say that hell gives up it's dead to be judged? The word "hell" in this Revelation passage is Hades in the Greek. This would be the place of torment for those who had previously died without the saving grace of the Father to redeem their spirits. The word "death" here would likely refer to those who were in Gehenna and had been deemed "dead" at the Bema judgment Seat as it relates to the body and/or the soul. After death and hell give up their dead, they (death and hell without their inhabitants) are thrown into (made a part of) the Lake of Fire. Could this Lake of Fire be the "sea" referenced here? The dead from all three of these abodes will also be brought before the Father at the White Throne Judgment. If everyone who was brought before Him was to be thrown in the Lake of Fire, why wouldn't the Scripture have said, "and ALL were thrown into the Lake of Fire"? It is obvious by the wording of this passage, that SOME who appear before the Father WILL be found in HIS Book of Life, and exempted from the Lake of Fire. Those who never allowed the Father to save their spirit WILL be thrown into the Lake of Fire which is the second death. Those who enter the Father's Kingdom would be judged in accordance with their works per the other books which were open, telling of the history of their soul and body.

But the fearful, AND UNBELIEVING, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8

Notice that the spirits of this group are condemned to eternity in the Lake of Fire. They are characterized by the term "UNBELIEVING". They had never "believed" unto the salvation of the spirit, thus they were not found in the FATHER'S Book of Life, and would not be allowed into the Father's Kingdom.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Revelation 21:1

The sea (Lake of Fire) seems to be linked here to the old Heaven and Earth. There will not be any such thing associated with the new Heaven and New Earth.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 21:2-5

We see here the throne of "GOD AND OF THE LAMB". In the passage of the transfer of the kingdoms in I Corinthians 15:28 we read that this was accomplished "that God may be all in all". At this point, it appears that there is but one throne, and that the Trinity of the Godhead is once again consolidated to rule together at this time. We also see here that the servants of the Lamb shall serve Him and shall see His face. His name shall be in their foreheads as in Revelation 3:12, which applies STRICTLY to THOSE WHO HAVE OVERCOME. We do not see the promise of seeing His face for anyone who was not considered by Him to be His servant!

... there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the LAMB'S Book of Life.

Revelation 21:27

Here we find evidence that the LAMB'S Book of Life would have been one of the books which were opened at the White Throne Judgment Seat. We see in verses 25-26 that the gates of the New Jerusalem will be open at all times, but here we see that some who are in the Eternal Kingdom will not be allowed to go through them. In other text of Revelation we find the parallel between the Bride of Christ and the New Jerusalem. We see also that God is present in New Jerusalem. Here we need to differentiate between the Wife and the Bride. In Biblical terms, the Wife is one who is betrothed. It takes a decree of divorce to do away with one who is betrothed, even if the wedding is never consummated. This is what Joseph thought to do with Mary when he found her to be with child. He "was minded to put her away privily" (or divorce her). Though they were only betrothed at this point, she was legally his "wife". One can be a Wife eternally, and never be a Bride, as one can only become a Bride through intimate consummation of marriage. Though the consummation of the Bride with Yeshua should not be contemplated or equated on a sexual level as we know consummation to be in our earthly plane of existence, some type of intimate interaction may occur exclusively with the Bride. It is probable that many will never have this intimacy with the Lamb, because they never developed an intimate relationship with Him here when they had the chance. He will accept them as Wife, but not as Bride. Again, we should mention that the HEAVENLY tabernacle will be patterned after the Tabernacle/Temples of the Old Testament. A study of the format of these Old Testament Tabernacle/Temples is extremely interesting. They consisted of three compartments; the Holy of Holies, the Inner Court, and the Outer Court. We find that the glory of God is located in the Holy of Holies. A high standard of Holiness was required for presence in the Holy of Holies. It is probable that only those who never had to endure Gehenna in order to become fit for the Eternal Kingdom will be allowed in the Holy of Holies portion of the Heavenly Tabernacle, which would be the city of New Jerusalem itself, where the Lamb resides. Revelation 19: 8 indicates that our garments will be the "righteousness of the saints". Certainly those who have produced the holy righteousness of the fruit of the Spirit while they walked the earth will be of a finer and fancier appearance than those who had not. Those with this special style of gown will be blessed to become the Bride and will abide WITH Him in a mansion within this holy city, as they were willing to abide IN Him when they were here. Only the high priests were able to enter this portion of the Tabernacle/Temples in the Old Testament, and we find in Hosea 4:6, (which relates also to the "church") that those who have rejected God's knowledge will be rejected, that they shall NOT be PRIESTS to Him. They will not be able to be with Him in the Holy of Holies, because they have rejected the knowledge that would enable them to abide with Him when they had the chance. Surrounding the city would be the Inner Court of the Tabernacle, where those who had finally been purified in Outer Darkness without having to lose their garments (souls) would be able to go. These garments would be plain but white. The purification process they endured in Outer Darkness will whiten their gowns, but they will have no evidence of the holy righteousness of the fruit of the Spirit because their purification was not accomplished through yielding WHILE THEY WALKED THE EARTH. Thus, they would be able to look into the city of New Jerusalem, but unable to enter into it. Those who were only counted as "His citizens" in Luke 19:14, and were never "His servants" would have endured Gehenna, where their soul would have been destroyed (per Matthew 10:28). They would no longer have any garments, and would be naked in their eternal home (Revelation 16:15). They would be restricted to the Outer Court of the Tabernacle, and could not even see into the holy city of New Jerusalem. Indeed some drawings of the Tabernacle show the Leper's quarters to be in the Outer Court.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Revelation 22:11

We see here that those who were unjust (their spirits were never justified by the Father through Belief) will remain unjustified, as they endure the Lake of Fire. Those who were filthy will be seen as filthy still. They endured Gehenna, where their sins were atoned, and they were able to enter the Father's Kingdom, but they will always be SEEN as filthy because they will be naked, having lost their soul (garment) in Gehenna. They will be limited to quarters in the Outer Court of the Tabernacle. Those who were righteous will be seen as righteous still. They will have endured Outer Darkness, where they came to terms with God, and the leprosy in their garments was cleansed unto a form of righteousness, and they have white garments throughout the Father's Kingdom. Their new-found righteousness will be seen in their garments, and they will be able to live in the Inner Court of the Heavenly Tabernacle, but unable to enter the gates into the holy city of the Holy of Holies. Those who were seen as holy will be seen as holy still. Their adorned gowns will give them access to the holy city of the New Jerusalem, (the Holy of Holies of the Heavenly Tabernacle).

CHALLENGE TO ABIDE

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke 14:33-35

Anytime we find "He that has ears to hear, let him hear", we need to take heed!!! Yeshua is desperately trying to get us to open our spiritual ears to His deeper spiritual truth. We need to see that the salt here is the "Believer". Upon our initial Belief, we become salt. This occurs through the circumcision of the spirit, and we are to continue to grow in Christ, retaining our savor, and using it to season the world around us, sharing with them the life we find in our Lord. If, however, we choose to live in our own self-will, we lose the savor we had upon our Belief, and we become useless to God. In this condition, we cannot help the Lord in the Millennial Kingdom (the land), but we are not yet in bad enough condition for Gehenna (the dunghill was associated with the Valley of Hinnom, i.e. Gehenna), but only for Outer Darkness (where men are cast out).

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is TEMPERATE in ALL things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be castaway.

I Corinthians 9:24-27

We are cautioned here to live life in such a manner that we will receive full reward. Evidence of the proper lifestyle to achieve this end is TEMPERANCE in ALL things. We must bring your body into subjection of temperance so we will not lose our prize (GOOD reward) of the entrance to the Millennial Kingdom, even when we have tried to help others see the need to do so. All Believers are subject to being "castaway" when they stand before the Son, as Paul well understood. If HE felt in danger of such fate, how much more should we respect the danger and strive to achieve the temperance he spoke of here!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-24

Here we see the various traits of the Fruit of the Spirit. The order of these traits seems to be somewhat progressive, ending with temperance. Indeed temperance appears to be the culmination of the sum total of these traits. Maybe that is why Paul so stressed it!

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.

Matthew 7:21-23

For the one who intently studies the "Kingdom of Heaven", it will become apparent that it is the Millennial Kingdom. Thus Yeshua, Himself says here that not everyone who refers to Him as Lord (who is a Believer) will enter this kingdom, but only those that DO the will of the Father. Many will complain that they have been Believers, and have spoken in His name, cast out devils, etc., but He will say He never KNEW them because they did NOT follow the intent of His Word, choosing instead to work iniquity. The term "knew" here implies intimacy. This was never developed in such a Believer, because they did NOT ABIDE IN HIM!. In the Greek, the term "iniquity" implies "not having, knowing, or acknowledging the law". When we serve "self" instead of "God", He sees us as workers of "iniquity".

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:5-6

Yeshua speaks here to Believers, as non Believers are not branches; (they have never been grafted in as branches of the Olive tree of God). Just as He abides in us through the Holy Spirit, we are to abide in Him by allowing the Holy Spirit to conform us! As we do so we bear the fruit OF the Spirit. If we choose to quench the Holy Spirit instead of yielding, we are seen as NOT abiding in Christ, and we cannot bear the fruit of the Spirit, so we are withered, cast off, and thrown into the fire and burned in Gehenna!!!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2

No condemnation lies ahead for the one which is ABIDING IN Christ; i.e. the one who walks in accordance to the direction of the Holy Spirit rather than after the things of the flesh or the world. Thus the law (mandate of God) of abiding in Christ by the direction of the Holy Spirit in conformity to Christ Yeshua frees us from the law of death of the soul due to the sin of transgression. The Old Testament indicates two types of covenants between God and man. One was conditional and the other was not. They were shadows of the covenant relationship He would have with the "church". The covenant relationship with God to our spirit is UNCONDITIONAL, but His covenant relationship to our body and soul IS CONDITIONAL. That is why Yeshua said in Matthew 5:17 that He came not "to DESTROY THE LAW, or the "prophets:". He said that instead He had come "to FULFILL" THEM. We are not to ignore the law because we have received grace. Though we do not have to adhere to every letter of it, the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts as we fall into transgression of it, and we need to make adjustment to embrace it. Indeed it is our direction manual towards achieving the CONDITIONAL salvation of the SOUL.

But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, hand THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. IF we confess our sins, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS, AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.

I John 1:7-9

As we walk by the direction of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit within us, we find the intended fellowship with God and mankind, and we experience the continuous cleansing from our sin. As long as we walk the face of this Earth, we cannot be without fault and falling short of our intended purposes, but we are cleansed as we choose the power and direction of the Holy Spirit over our own self-will. When we realize our shortcomings and disobedience, we must confess them (which includes deciding to turn from them), and we will be continually cleansed from our unrighteousness, and seen as righteous in the eyes of God.

Come now, and LET US REASON TOGETHER, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 1:18

We are intended to reason together about the deeper truth of God as Paul did with the Bereans. As we do so we will begin to see the means by which we are to be "saved". It is interesting to note here that crimson is the color of old blood, while scarlet is the color of new blood. There seems to be significance to the double statement here. When we are brought into the fold of Believers, the blood of God permanently covers our spirit, and we are considered to be as wool. Hosea 2:9 assures us that Ysehua will "return ... and will recover my wool ...." (Accordingly, EVERY Believer must be taken into the heavenly realm by way of physical death or rapture to stand before the Bema Seat of Judgment PRIOR to the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom). As our spiritual walk progresses, this blood covering of the spirit develops the crimson tone, of blood previously applied. The dual reference to purification here, however, relates to the scarlet coloration. This would relate to the continuous application of blood to the door-posts of the heart (i.e. the soul). As this application is consistently new and fresh, the coloration retains a scarlet coloration. We are told in this verse that the scarlet coloration (the continuous application of blood to the soul) will make us white as snow. This white coloration applies to the garments (soul) as we find in Revelation 19:8 where the marriage of the Lamb is discussed. It is said there that her garments will be "clean and white". Thus we see the necessity of keeping the application of blood to the soul in current scarlet status, to be seen by God as white.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Proverbs 28:13

We see here confirmation that the one who covers his sins (trespasses) rather than confessing them will not prosper (receive the mercy of the Son at Bema), whereas the one who DOES confess (thus forsake) these trespasses SHALL receive the Son's mercy at this time.

There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Proverbs 30:11-14

This passage tells of A GENERATION (it is OUR GENERATION) that dishonors their parents, and are seen as being pure by THEIR standards. He warns us that they are seen as defiled in their filthiness by GOD'S STANDARDS! They are a perverse and unlawful generation.

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Proverbs 19:16

We are to keep His commandments in order for our soul to be saved at Bema. Only if He sees it as undefiled, will we be allowed to KEEP IT. If it is seen as defiled, it will be severed from the spirit, and will die (be destroyed in Gehenna).

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Proverbs 8:32-36

Those are deemed as blessed who keep His ways, and hear and follow instructions. They are seen as wise. They hear Him, and watch daily by conforming the gates of the mind (bringing every though into the obedience of Yeshua). They are seen as waiting at the posts of His doors (His doors are seen here to be the renewed spirit where He resides, and the portals of these doors is the door posts of the heart, i.e. the soul). We are seen as waiting in proper cut condition because these souls have been anointed by the shed blood of the Son as we are told to do. By finding HIS WAY, and renewing the soul to align with the new Spirit within us, we bring His life to the soul, and it is saved at Bema instead of being severed off and destroyed in Gehenna. By walking in HIM, we obtain his favor (mercy), and are spared. HOWEVER, the one that sinned against HIM by walking in self-will has wronged his own soul, and has chosen death of the soul in Gehenna over His life of the soul that could have been granted to him at Bema.

If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Proverbs 9:12

Wisdom is of the Lord, and we are cautioned here to obtain it. If we ignore the wisdom He $offers us, and have scorn towards GOD'S TOTAL TRUTH as it is revealed in His Word, we alone will bear the penalty for it!

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 29:18

We do not want to fail to see the vision of His total Truth for us, and His will for our lives. Those who fail to see it will lose their souls at Bema. However, the one who sees His total Truth, and thus keeps His law, is happy and has abundant life (both in this world and in the kingdoms that follow it)!

Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, ... Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the days of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me .... Wherefore, I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do always err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I are in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin .... Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest ....

Hebrews 3:7-4:11

Now we should note that the rest for the Believer is the Millennial Kingdom which correlates to the seventh day (the Sabbath) in eschatology. Therefore, we are to exhort (challenge) one another daily to prepare ourselves to be found in proper condition to be allowed into this kingdom. We must do so while we are still here and can still improve our walk with Christ. If we do not work on our walk, we see here that we can be hardened through the deceit of sin. We are admonished again that we must LABOR at our alignment with Christ in order to enter into this kingdom!

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Proverbs 23:23

We are told here to BUY (purchase) TRUTH, WISDOM, INSTRUCTION and UNDERSTANDING, and never to SELL it. How do we purchase it? We do so by embracing it and allowing it to become a part of our life. Selling it, on the other hand would be to reject it, and put Self-will back into the position of authority in our life. Please note, that we can purchase these things, THEN SELL THEM. We are cautioned FIRST to PURCHASE them, then to be sure we KEEP THEM (i.e. CONTINUE to APPLY them as authority over our self-will)!

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. WHOSOEVER TRANSGRESSETH, and ABIDETH NOT IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, HATH NOT GOD. HE THAT ABIDETH IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, HE HATH BOTH THE FATHER AND THE SON.

II John 1:8-9

We should take an inward look unto our souls in order to prevent the loss of our works through the fire at Bema; so we might receive the full reward which is to be given to the one who WALKS BY THE SPIRIT WITHIN HIM. Believers who have transgressed against God and chosen NOT to ABIDE IN HIM and HIS DOCTRINE (i.e. total Truth) are seen at the Bema seat as being without God. Their souls are not bonded to the Holy Spirit within them in alignment with God's will. Therefore, they do not show the works OF GOD, the manifestation of Christ through their souls, and have not embraced and applied the blood of the Son who died for them. However, the one whose soul is seen as white and undefiled is 'Seen to have not only the Father (which we are joined to upon our initial Belief), but ALSO THE SON, as we are seen to be in his image, and under His conformity!

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 4:23

Though Mark 12:30 tells us that we must "LOVE the Lord thy God with all thy heart (spirit), and with all thy mind, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength (body)", we see here that we are to WORSHIP Him with our renewed SPIRIT, in accordance with the total TRUTH of His Word. In fact worshipping Him with our soul appears to be seen as an abomination of sorts to God. Hosea 9:4 says that Ephraim "shall not offer wine offerings to the Lord, neither shall they be pleasing unto Him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul SHALL NOT COME INTO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD"! Now the TRIBE of Ephraim is one of the twelve tribes of Judah, and is physically Hebrew. However, it was predominantly descendants of Ephraim who mixed their blood with the Gentile nations, and this mixed offspring has formed the primary populace of the "church" today. Thus we find the HOUSE of Ephraim, as differentiated from the TRIBE of Ephraim. It is often taught today that the HOUSE of Ephraim is Israel, but this is a confusion between the TRIBE and the HOUSE. The word "house" in the original Hebrew carries the connotation of "family and temple". It is a group of people which God sees as being united under a particular "spiritual" banner. Please note that Hosea 5:5 lists the houses of Ephraim, Israel, and Judah as three separate and exclusive entities. The HOUSE of Ephraim is spiritually significant as today's "CHURCH" in some portions of Scripture. The spirit can embrace God with love and adoration without "feeling" or showing excessive emotion. Emotion is closely related to the soul, rather than to the spirit, and can create a false sense of a softened heart and closeness to God while the inner heart actually remains hardened, and the attitude after the "emotion" wears off will remain unchanged. It seems that these "emotional swings" can actually create an even harder inner heart through allowing a "false sense of security" in the Believer's appraisal of the nearness in his relationship with God! We MUST be aware that the seat of human emotions is the most easily manipulated part of our being, and is often the entry gate for deceptive spiritual interaction! Because much of the so-called "worship" today is "experiential" and produces arousal of the emotions of the soul, we need to consider this text carefully. The wine offering that this passage says Ephraim WON'T make is the treading down of the soul (self-will) of the Believer to produce fruit of the vine (wine) in accordance with the Truth of God's Word and the renewed spirit within. Instead they will offer the unacceptable bread of the enraptured experiential soulical worship which will NOT be in accordance with the acceptable guidelines of God's total Truth. This passage further cautions that those who participate in such soulical forms of worship will be seen as polluted, the worship they offer will be rejected, and they will be exempted from the house (family/temple) of the Lord (presumably until such pollution is purified in Outer Darkness or Gehenna). May we all seriously consider the form of worship in which we participate, whether it would arouse the soulical emotion (experiential in nature), or whether it stems from the fruit of the Spirit, being of a TEMPERATE nature, flowing from the renewed spirit in accordance with God's total Truth. Some "churches" (and those who worship within them) which claim to be "ALIVE" because of the emotional feeling that comes over them may be Sardisian in nature (Revelation 3:1), and found to be "DEAD" in the eyes of God. Then others which are thought to be "DEAD" due to their temperate style of worship may be very much "ALIVE" from HIS perspective! Those whom Yeshua sees as dead in Revelation 3 are told to repent and watch or He will come upon them as a thief. Only a few of these people of Sardisian nature will repent and be found with undefiled garments of white per verse 4.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

James 2:26

"Faith" as is used in Scripture is a much misunderstood term. It is often equated with "belief". It is true that in some references, they are virtually equal, but in others "faith" continues far beyond the point where "belief" ends. "Belief" indicates taking something to heart in such a way that it makes a difference in the life of the person. This is the entirety of "belief", but only the first phase of "faith". Throughout Romans we find that we are sanctified and justified by "faith". If "faith" here was merely "belief", why would James tell us that without works it was DEAD? Thus we see the complexity of faith. Maybe Ephesians 2:8 will shed some light. Here we find that we are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH. We learned that grace (being different from mercy) redeemed or saved our spirit as a free gift upon our initial "belief". However, we realize that salvation of the SOUL occurs through the yielded walk as we "abide in Christ"! If the extension of the meaning of "FAITH" is the YIELDED WALK of the Believer, we could also see in Romans 2:8 the salvation of the SOUL THROUGH FAITH (i.e. such a WALK). Thus the spirit is saved BY GRACE, and the soul is saved THROUGH FAITH (the yielded walk of the Believer). Now we can understand James 2:26 a bit better. We see that AS IT RELATES TO THE SOUL, faith (initial "belief") without works (the walk) is dead (of no merit). Maybe that is why Paul was able to say in II Timothy 4:7 just before he died, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Perhaps that is also why the Lord Himself questioned in Luke 18:8 whether He would even "find faith on the earth" when He returns. A word study of the word "faith" will present some remarkable proof that it only begins with "belief". We should note that one of the aspects of the fruit of the Spirit is "faith". Obviously this cannot be limited to "belief", as our "belief" came before we received the Holy Spirit, thus we could not yet have begun to develop His fruit. We should remember that I Peter 1:69 spoke of the trials of faith which would produce unspeakable joy and full glory, receiving the END of your faith, even the SALVATION OF YOUR SOULS. Thus we see that the end of "faith" is the completion of the yielded walk of the Believer which achieves the salvation of the soul.

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, ... In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ... with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I Corinthians 5:1-5

The passage of this context refers to fornication. We see throughout God's Word that fornication can be spiritual. We receive God as our HUSBAND through betrothal when we first "believe" and the Holy Spirit circumcises our heart. We should note here that the one who commits fornication will be delivered in the name of and through the power of Yeshua unto SATAN for the destruction of the FLESH that the SPIRIT will be salvaged in the day of redemption. We learned that the Holy Spirit has sealed the spirit of the Believer (wife) unto the day of redemption, but it must be in proper condition to enter the Eternal Kingdom. The spirit of such a backslider may have to be severed from the soul and flesh, and the offending soul and flesh destroyed in Gehenna in order for the spirit to be seen as pure (longer attached or bound to leprosy that could not be cleansed). Remember that the spirit must be pure when it enters the Father's Kingdom, because the Father cannot be in the presence of any form of sin.

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Proverbs 3:35

When we yield to the wisdom of God, we shall be glorified in the Millennial and Eternal Kingdoms, but if we reject His wisdom, we are considered to be fools, and we will suffer much shame.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

James 5:19-20

If one Believer helps draw another Believer out of a backsliden condition back into the ABIDING life, we see that the Believer who extended the helping hand saved his fellow Believer's soul from death, and has put away a great many sins of trespass by doing so.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Proverbs 11:30

The righteous fruit of the Spirit when it is manifested through a Believer is a tree of abundant life. Thus the one that helps a fellow Believer achieve such a life is seen as a winner of souls and is wise.

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word of my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I ´require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ezekiel 3:17-19

The House of Israel here may encompass ALL of the "elect", Hebrew and Gentile alike. Again, House means family/temple, a spiritual banner which covers a people. Some of the prophets split this family tree down into Ephraim, Israel, and Judah, and others included all under the banner of the House of Israel. The context should always be considered. However, the probability that this includes the "church" should cause us to take heed to the potential that failure to warn of the coming judgment could put our soul in jeopardy. Ezekiel is ONLY assured of the deliverance of his soul if he is found faithful to warn his fellow "elect" of the judgment ahead. Our duty is before us!

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luke 21:33

We are forewarned to take seriously what the Word of God tells us. Whereas all else is tentative, the total Truth He gave us in His Word is eternal. We must be sure to hear it, rightly divide it (II Timothy 2:15), and embrace it fully.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Revelation 22:12

The Greek for the word "quickly" used here means indicates "suddenly" and "without delay". When He chooses to send for his Bride to meet Him in the air, it will be immediate, and to many it will be unexpected. He will not delay further, regardless of who is ready and who is not. He will simply take home the ones who ARE READY, and for the rest, it will be too late. We will be rewarded (positively OR negatively) according to our work (the condition of our soul). our bodies (vessels) are filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit per Matthew 24:4, and our souls are seen as undefiled, we will be rewarded by being taken home to avoid the Tribulation Period to be unleashed upon the earth. If we are NOT filled and undefiled, we will be rewarded with the penalty of having to remain behind to endure this terrible period of time. Which of us will be ready?

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED worthy to escape ALL these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 21:36

Elsewhere we are told to be sober and alert to the signs of the times. We are NOT to ignore them. Surely they are being fulfilled NOW before our very eyes. There is nothing to my knowledge that would prevent His IMMEDIATE return. We are admonished here to WATCH (i.e. be aware of the lateness of the prophetic hour), and to pray always (i.e. without ceasing as we find in I Thessalonians 5:17, which is accomplished through ABIDING IN HIM). By doing these two things, we will be found worthy to: 1) escape the Tribulation to come upon the Earth in the rapture (salvation of the body), and receive MERCY when we stand before the Son at Bema (salvation of the soul). Shouldn't we be about this process?
