ABOUT THE BOOK

Nether is an interesting word. It is Strongs 8482 - "tahton", and means lowest. A wonderful resource book titled Arcade Dictionary of Word Origins tells us that its English origin indicates "below" or "down". Because of these meanings it is often associated with the underworld. However, in the broadest sense, this need not be so. At the bottom of a thing is its base or foundation. Sometimes we have to reach the bottom and look up to see the entire picture. We have endeavored to do so. What we have found may may help us to love one another, regardless of our faith and background, and to walk hand in hand to make this world a better place. It will help us to understand how there is truth to all branches of faith, and how they must ULTIMATELY be merged. However, it will also caution us that this blending of the faiths is a dangerous thing if it is not properly accomplished. Indeed, there will be an attempt to do so in our very near future which will defile many of all faiths. It must be accomplished by God Himself, and the one who will attempt to do it first will be one who professes to be God, but is not.

We must realize that we live in a fallen world. We see through a glass darkly. There is much confusion and misunderstanding relative to the various faiths here on Earth. Maybe those who are truly seeking GOD'S TOTAL TRUTH (regardless of faith or background) should start to sort it all out! There is much understanding that we need to glean from the depths of God's creative plan in order to see the entire plan of God; to understand why we were sent here, what the beliefs of the various faiths have to offer in our understanding process, and what is ahead for us. When we get to the bottom, reaching the NETHERMOST part of His plan and work our way up, we can see the whole picture. As we "study to show ourselves approved", it may be necessary to do so.

There is a rather undefined but instinctively understood mystique associated with the word "nether". It is often construed to be separated from our present vision by a veil of sorts - a veil which has served to keep the golden nuggets in its treasure chest "hidden" until it is time for them to be discovered. Perhaps it is time for the veil to be rent. It is now the days of knowledge to which Daniel referred, and the book is being opened. I believe God now wants us to uncover some of these 'hidden" nuggets and present them for His glory!

Life on this fallen Earth is structured around gravity. Gravity pulls down. Many of God's golden nuggets have fallen to the bottom, and been hidden away for just such a time as this. It is hard to retrieve the gold from the nether realms if our heads are only in the clouds. As the saying goes, we can be so "heavenly minded" that we are of no "earthly good"! Though our ultimate destiny is to find those clouds, we do not want to stop short of piecing ALL of God's plan for mankind together. That is why we look to the nether realm to retrieve all of God's golden nuggets, and put them in their proper place in His plan. Then the ENTIRE picture begins to unfold. Believer, do not ignore these nuggets. Understanding them may be VITAL in the days ahead. Even as the tires on our cars need periodic realignment, so too some of our theological perspectives may need a slight realignment. Indeed this world has given us a very BUMPY RIDE! May we fill our pots (hearts and minds) as we search together for His Nether Nuggets, His vast treasures of gold at the base of His creative plan!
