MODERN DAY PLAGUES: A SIGN OF THE TIMES

Pharaoh and the Egyptians suffered some horrible plagues, but God's vengeance upon the Egyptians was just a taste of the vengeance that will fall upon the Earth very soon. The Book of Revelation reveals that during the Tribulation, God will unleash unprecedented plagues upon the Earth.

Let's focus for now on two of the horsemen of this apocalyptic book. Revelation 6:58 tells of a black horse and a pale horse. The rider of the pale horse brings (among other things) hunger and death which is often presumed to be by pestilence (a natural by-product of mass starvation). Whereas the rider of the black horse brings famine, the rider of the pale horse brings the death which must surely follow such extensive famine.

Though the Tribulation is upon our very heels, we are not presently in it. Matthew 24 tells us that there will be a period called the "beginning of sorrows" immediately before the Tribulation itself. Verse 7 describes some traits of the "beginning of sorrows". This article will center around famine and pestilence (only two of several problems we face). You see, before He pours out His wrath upon the Earth, God (in His mercy) warns us once more through the "beginning of sorrows" to repent and prepare for the return of our Bridegroom. Just as labor pains increase in frequency and intensity as birth approaches, this period called the "beginning of sorrows" evidences increasing severity as the Tribulation closes in upon us.

The nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom prophecy is so obviously being fulfilled today, and one look at a newscast featuring the refugees in the Zaire or Somalia conflicts will verify the famine that has gripped these misplaced people as the result of these ethnic wars. But there are many other sources of famine as well.

In Alaska, we find that there is an ominous piece of technological equipment called HAARP. Among its capabilities is the power to disrupt and reprogram weather patterns. This is now in use, and probably accounts for much of the bizarre weather we have seen in this nation over the past two years. Among the many freak events we have experienced in this country, we find extensive droughts and flooding. Either of these conditions can eliminate the ability to plant and/or harvest crops, resulting in food shortages.

In addition to dealing with these unusual weather stipulations, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas have also had to deal with an outbreak of a bacteria which has almost destroyed their wheat crop. It takes five years to kill off this type of bacteria.

The problem of grain shortages is actually worldwide. Grain has always been used to alleviate famine in third world countries, but may not be available for that purpose much longer. The European Common Market has already frozen grain exports in order to protect their own populace from hunger.

China's population alone is growing at a rate of nearly 14 million people per year. With diminishing supplies of grain worldwide and this type of increases in population ahead, widespread famine appears to be upon us. Our legislature is currently considering measures to apply socialistic restrictions on our food purchase here in the United States!

There has been a recent marked increase in volcanic activity and earthquakes, and now tsunami activity is thrown into the mix. These volcanic eruptions propel nitric oxide, sulfur oxide, and hydrogen chloride molecules into the ozone layer, where they cause a chemical degeneration of the ozone molecules. Our ozone is vanishing. We have a hole in this protective ozone that is rapidly growing in size and allowing harmful ultraviolet rays to penetrate our atmosphere. While chloroflorocarbons have (to a very SMALL degree) contributed to this problem, the increased volcanic activity has PROVEN to be the major source of concern. As the ozone layer is depleted, plants die (again contributing to food (shortages), and skin cancers become much more prevalent. Volcanic activity will be unparalleled during the Tribulation, and the ozone layer will be virtually destroyed, resulting in tremendous famine, the noisome and grievous sores of Revelation 16:2 and the scorching heat of Revelation 16:89.

Not only is skin cancer an increasing threat to society, but recently the London Times printed a worldwide alert by the World Health Organization regarding a new strain of TB that statistics indicate will be much more widespread than AIDS, and is airborne. Over 300 million people are expected to be infected in the near future, as it is anticipated that each infected person may infect another 1015 people in a given year. Tens of million are expected to die. Cases of this TB have already been found in London, Siberia, and New York! Everyone is susceptible, and the only cure or prevention will be the intervention of Almighty God.

The really tragic part of this scenario is that a majority of the fatal pestilence in our world today did not just happen. Joyce Riley (a former U.S. Air Force flight nurse and founder of the American Gulf War Veterans Association) reports that deadly viruses such as AIDS, Ebola, Mad Cow Disease, Hanta Virus, Lyme Disease, and flesh eating bacteria are actually created in government test tubes. The more virulent diseases attack the central nervous system, causing headaches, fatigue, rashes, paralysis, blood sickness, brain rot, and eventually death. She maintains that they are being deliberately used to depopulate the Earth.

Terry Cook (a retired Deputy Sheriff and former fraud investigator for the State of California) states that the Gulf War military troops were injected (forcibly when necessary) with an experimental vaccine which contained botulism and anthrax poisons. An article he made reference to referred to the precious lives of our countrymen as "Guinea Pigs & Disposable GIs". Many of these GIs are now paralyzed, wheelchair bound, or dead. Maybe it's not poisonous gas exposure that has caused their suffering and the deforming mutations in their offspring. Could it be the injection of botulism they received at the hand of our own government?

Are we seeing the precursors of the Tribulation? Are we in the "beginning of sorrows"? How can there be any doubt? Our Lord will come for His Bride any time now. Will you be ready, or will you rush headlong with the masses into the agonies which await you in the Great Tribulation? Are you in a solid and productive relationship with Yeshua? Do you know Him as your personal Savior AND Lord of your life? Are you awaiting His soon return and praying to be found worthy when He comes (Luke 21:36)? I pray that you are!
