PEACE AT WHAT PRICE?
Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? At what price? How will it evolve? These questions address the core of prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes today. Every time the news features the Middle East, hearts the world over begin to beat a bit faster. Those of us who eagerly await the return of Yeshua for His bride (the glorified church) realize the significance of the events unfolding in this part of the world every day. An important element to consider, however, is where the United States of America fits into this prophetic scenario. Virtually every time you see pictures or film footage of assassinated Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin or Peres and Arafat in negotiations, signing agreements, or shaking hands, etc., there is a third face in the picture. Our president, Bill Clinton, was highly instrumental in the initiation of this peace process.
Just what implications does this have for our country? Let's refer just for a moment to Genesis 12:3
3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee ....
Genesis 12:3
Since our president represents this country, the effects of his administration's input will be felt throughout it. The manner in which God views our input to this peace process could indeed bring upon our nation the direct consequences of blessings or curses and judgments from God.
Does God condone this peace process? In Genesis 13:15, God gave this land to Israel for ever. How can He consider a peace pact, that gives it away to their sworn enemy, at all appropriate?
Either former President Clinton did not acknowledge Biblical Truth, or he thought that his motives for forcing this issue of peace were above such Truth.
If God views his efforts to promote world peace and bring about the "one world government" described in the Book of Revelation (even at the expense of Israel's land) as abusive action toward Israel, it might well prompt the Lord not only to remove His long-standing blessing upon this country, but even to allow the Genesis 12:3 curse to come upon our nation as judgment. As a people who have always lived under His gracious blessings, we have no idea how devastating it could be to see a reversal of His favor.
Some of our "signs of the times" may be judgments. They are manifesting at unprecedented rates. Violence, moral degradation, flagrant homosexuality, increase of teen pregnancies and abortions, the proliferation of psychic TV advertisements, pornography in our convenience stores, rampant abuse of our children and the elderly, terrorism, quirks of nature, and earth changes are prominent in our headlines.
The Judeo-Christian values, that this nation was founded upon are quickly diminishing. This, as well as Middle East developments may point to the end of times, and it is entirely possible that the extreme weather cycles we have been experiencing are actually the beginning of God's judgment.
